In the drought affected areas like Okhaldhunga and Khotang, establishment of conservation farming and agro-forestry is crucial for climate resilient livelihood promotion. AID Nepal, under partnership of UNDP’s Developing Climate Resilient LIvelihoods in Vulnerable Watershed in Nepal (DCRL), trained around 600 households of drought affected areas in the year 2023 and 2024 to initiate conservation farming to cope up the impact of climate change in agriculture. In addition, the Training of Trainer was also conducted on Conservation Farming and Agro-forestry for 27 lead farmers of 8 municipalities of Okhaldhunga and Khotang districts to act as Local Resource Persons for promotion of conservation farming.
